NOWATCH is a beautiful piece of jewellery capable of measuring vital signs. Being an interface-less device, we provide our customers with a solution for visualizing their data. This is where you come in.

At NOWATCH we are building a high-quality design, native mobile application. There are several corresponding domains in the app, with a lot more to come. Think of bluetooth (always-on connection with NOWATCH), high amounts of sensory data, OpenGL/Metal and in the future we will be implementing ML models. As a mobile developer at NOWATCH you are directly involved in the evolution of the application. We are looking for people who thrive on tackling complexities, have a proactive mindset and are keen on pushing the application, and the development team, to the next level. NOWATCH is a young organization looking to grow. Responsibilities

  • You build and maintain the Android app and have an active involvement in the development of the application
    • You implement new features from start to finish

    • You translate design into high quality code

    • You keep constant synchronization with the iOS team to keep similar structures and architectures in place when possible

    • You resolve reported issues from internal- and external feedback loops (testing, customers, QA and other team members)

  • You enjoy working in an agile team
    • You actively participate in our dailies, refinements, retrospectives and demos

    • You have a passion for development and like sharing your knowledge with others

    • You don’t wait for things to happen, you make them happen

    • You work both independently and as part of a team

    • You manage time across competing demands to meet deadlines 

    • You work closely with designers and developers

  • Together with the team you bring the unit testing to the next level
    • You help implement unit testing for automated tests of key app features

    • You continuously seek to improve the process to get the best quality output

Job requirements

  • You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a comparable function

  • You have experience in Android development and are comfortable with Kotlin

  • You are familiar with working in multi-disciplinary teams and agile methodologies

  • You are used to writing automated tests and are familiar with CI/CD

  • You have great problem solving skills and like a good challenge. You are persistent in finding the best solution without losing eye on time management.

  • You have good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • You have great work-ethics and work well in a flexible environment where you get a lot of freedom.

  • Experience with iOS development is a bonus.

  • You are able to commute to our office in Amsterdam 

  • European work permit required
