Role Description

NOWATCH is a beautiful piece of jewellery capable of measuring vital signs. Being an interface-less device, we provide our customers with a solution for visualizing their data. This is where you come in.

At NOWATCH we are building a high-quality design, native mobile application. There are several corresponding domains in the app, with a lot more to come. Think of bluetooth (always-on connection with NOWATCH), high amounts of sensory data, OpenGL/Metal and in the future we will be implementing ML models.

As a Technical Lead at NOWATCH, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the technology that drives our product. We're looking for a Technical Lead who can guide the development team in tackling complex technical challenges and take the product to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • You lead technical design and development of the company's app (native iOS & Android) and websites (React/Typescript), ensuring high quality, scalability, and performance.

  • You collaborate with product management and design teams to understand product requirements and ensure technical feasibility.

  • You mentor and lead a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and support, and promoting a culture of learning and growth.

  • You act as a technical subject matter expert and provide technical leadership in architectural design and technical direction.

  • You lead technical discussions and presentations to stakeholders, including management and customers.

  • You collaborate with other teams, such as customer support, to ensure a seamless customer experience.

  • You help grow the team by identifying and hiring new software engineers.

Job requirements

  • You have strong technical knowledge and expertise in native iOS & Android app development, as well as React/Typescript web development.

  • You have experience leading and mentoring a small team of software engineers.

  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and presentations to stakeholders.

  • You have knowledge of software development best practices, such as coding standards, testing, and continuous integration/deployment.

  • You have the ability to make technical trade-offs and manage technical risks.

  • You have the ability to evaluate and incorporate new technologies into the company's products.

  • You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

  • You understand the customers needs and have experience working with customer support teams.

  • You have good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • You have great work-ethics and work well in a flexible environment where you get a lot of freedom.

  • You are able to commute to our office in Amsterdam

  • European work permit required

Nice to have

  • You are familiar with hardware integration and experience communicating between hardware and software.
